Varenna - Villa Monti ( via @airbnb) has just about the most amazing view that you find and you get to enjoy it all to yourself!

Sala Comacina - The MUSA Lago di Como is a luxe small boutique hotel on the waterfront with incredible views, a stunning pool + bar, excellent service, and superb food from two acclaimed chefs. With only 12 rooms, it’s a small piece of paradise.

EAT:
Varenna - La Veranda Dei Pescatori
It was a local recommendation to dine here above all other restaurants in Varenna. The food, the atmosphere, the view… Run don’t walk!

Bellagio - Barchetta
The perfect lunch stop when exploring Bellagio.
Tucked away on the cutest picture-perfect street with delicious food and drinks.

Sala Comacina - Locanda La Tirlindana
Came here for the lemon mascarpone ravioli I read about in reviews online and it melted in my mouth! So worth it! Not to mention the setting right on the water is quaint perfection, pictures don’t even do it justice.

DO:
Villa Monastero - There are so many villas along Lake Como to choose from, if you only visit one this should be it! While the villa itself doesn’t take long to see, the botanical gardens are so extensive and every single step is exquisite!

Classic Boat Tour - A boat tour is the ultimate way to spend time in Lake Como and see the towns from a different vantage point. And nothing is more chic than popping champagne on a classic wooden boat.

This is the oldest city in Italy made up of cave dwellings built into a ravine along the mountainside. The caves were occupied up until a forced evacuation in the 1950’s. It has since been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Once the shame of Italy due to the poor living conditions, it’s had an extraordinary revival and has recently been called the European Capital of Culture.

It still amazes me that places like this exist.
EMERALD LAKE LODGE is situated on a private island out in the wilderness in Yoho National Park, a part of the Canadian Rockies.

Along with the main lodge on property, there are just 24 chalet-style cabins… so it’s quite a secluded stay! The cabins feature wood-burning fireplaces and patios with views of the lake. The stunning jade-colored lake feels like it’s all yours!

But make no mistake, you won’t be roughing it. While it’s rustic, the lodge has many luxury amenities and quite a bit of history! Not to mention, the restaurants on property offer award-winning Rocky Mountain cuisine! Plus there’s a full bar, game room, conference center, and plenty of reading nooks.

Besides unplugging from the real world, you can hike the trails, go canoeing, or enjoy the unparalleled views from the hot tub. I can’t begin to recommend a stay here enough!
